Suit Camp at the College of Law, Chester Tuesday 19 February 2013

This event sounds like great experience of an assessment day before you have to experience the real thing:

Tuesday 19 February 2013 13.30 - 17.30 at the College of Law, Chester

Suit Camp will provide you with a number of tests and exercises that mirror those used by law firms to select trainees. There will be generic feedback on overall performance and hints and tips on how to succeed at future assessment days.

The day will take the following format:

  • Commercial Awareness Workshop
Gives you the opportunity to sharpen your commercial awareness and practise your presentation skills

  • In-tray exercise
An exercise that involves spotting grammatical errors within a contract

  • Speed Interviews
An opportunity to practise your interview technique with expert guidance


Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

Pupillage Gateway goes live on 1 March 2013!

For those of you interested in a career as a Barrister, please read on.....

The Pupillage Portal has now been replaced by the Pupillage Gateway, the new online application system for pupillage. The Gateway will work in largely the same way as the Portal, but will be more user friendly and allow applicants the opportunity to tailor their applications to a greater extent.

The Gateway will go live on 1 March 2013 with pupillage adverts for those chambers recruiting through the system. The website is www.pupillagegateway.com. Once it goes fully live on 1 March, applicants can search for chambers.

Candidates will be able to submit pupillage applications from 1 April 2013.

BPP Law School to offer BPTC in Manchester

Interesting development from Lawcareers.net www.lawcareers.net

"BPP Law School has announced that, subject to validation from the Bar Standards Board, it will be offering the BPTC at its Manchester location from September 2013. Manchester will be the third of its sites to offer the course (the other two are London and Leeds). Fees will be £13,785. There will be space for 48 full time students, who will have the chance to advise real clients at BPP's pro bono centre, and take part in moots and mock trials."
